Job Overview

A DevOps Automation Engineer designs, develops, deploys, and operates automation technologies that provide continuous integration(CI) and continuous delivery(CD). A strong focus on data is critical for this role as well, both ensuring incoming data from outside systems is understood and managed appropriately, but also that internal data is professionally managed and controlled.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, creation, maintenance, and execution of test suites/cases across the application
  • Support to consolidate, build, test, and release software in a environment
  • Building out testing capabilities between Jira and the ServiceNow Automated Test framework
  • Responsible for the maintenance and processing of data across multiple sources, ensuring data is understood and managed appropriately based on organizational and application standards
  • Manage and monitoring the automation of software deployments, support automation testing and implementation
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the system, including its data, and ensuring development is held to a high standard of delivery
  • Write scripts and use tools to automate CI/CD for to support Research, documentation, and solve automation problems
  • Systems, software, cloud, and Agile testing experience to support a Program/Portfolio to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems
  • Experience in a team-based DevOps approach to deliver mission value frequently, cost-effectively, responsively, and with high quality

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, w/ modern Program/programming languages Java, Ruby, and or Python
  • 8 years’ experience
  • 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • 5 years of writing, executing, reviewing, analyzing, and supporting software testing during development to ensure quality
  • 3-5 years writing test automation scripts, SQL, keyword-driven and data-driven automation techniques, and web application white box testing
  • Must be able to design, discuss, and document testing strategies for platforms, applications, and networks
  • Experience writing both unit and end-to-end automated tests
  • Proficient with ServiceNow, Jira and GitHub
  • Ability to support one or more ongoing Agile Scrum teams
  • Experience in creating technical documentation and maintain Automation Test artifacts (Test Program/Portfolio, Test Data, configurations)
  • Experience in Performance and scale testing, performance measurement
  • Backend and frontend (UI) automation tool experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)
  • ServiceNow testing and development including AppDev Engine, Integration Hub, Mobile Studio, and Automated Test Framework
  • Experience supporting public-facing web applications with a large userbase
  • ServiceNow System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Implementation Specialist
  • ServiceNow Application Developer
  • Experience supporting VA and/or other Government entities

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)
