President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday clarified how Usman Alkali Baba was appointed as acting Inspector-General of Police.
The president was handling inquiries from State House journalists on his appearance from London after a normal clinical check-up.
The president said fair treatment was rigorously continued in the choice of the new IGP.
He said: “All things considered, we went through the framework. There was a panel by the Minister of Police Affairs, they gave me a few names and he turned out to be the one picked.
“He knows his work, he has been in it for quite a while, he went through every one of the trainings; he has the essential experience. Thus, we have an exclusive requirement from him.”
Buhari again challenged the new service chiefs and the acting IGP to work tenaciously towards meeting the assumptions for Nigerians
“Goodness indeed, they (service chiefs) have been in the framework as far as possible, they realize what’s up, they realize what is correct and I think they are putting forth a valiant effort. I trust their best will be sufficient for Nigeria,” the president said.
Talking prior on his landing in the air terminal, Buhari had said his clinical registration in London “went well indeed”.
On what Nigerians ought to anticipate from his organization going ahead after a merited rest in.
