Title: Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote (Based in the U.S.)

Reporting to our Chief People Officer, the Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) will focus on advancing NerdWallet’s DEI efforts in partnership with the executive team, senior leaders, employee resource groups, as well as employees across the company. The incumbent will directly manage a DEI program manager and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.

This new leadership role will be responsible for refining the long-term strategy and defining our approach as it relates to DEI across our global workforce, workplace, and marketplace, with a specific focus on how the strategy adapts to the needs of the business. We are looking for a leader who can scale our existing capabilities to align with NerdWallet’s growth and our overall mission to provide the tools, information, and insight people need to navigate all of life’s financial decisions.

Responsibilities:

Articulate a vision, translating it into executable strategy, and drive cross-functional teams to deliver against the plan
Ensure DEI strategy is integrated into all relevant aspects of our work including talent acquisition, talent development, and employment branding – to name a few
Define, measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of short to long term DEI goals to establish benchmarks, report on progress, and identify gaps and opportunities for future areas of focus
Leverage data to provide insights to stakeholders to drive decision making and behavior change
Oversee, lead, and advocate for NerdWallet’s Employee Resource Groups, coaching the leaders and executive sponsors to drive measurable business impact and sustainable programming
Assist leadership in promoting and managing team member engagement in DEI programs and initiatives
Maintain trend knowledge of DEI best practices and act as a strong influential voice for the organization

8+ years of experience leading and working on DEI programs and initiatives
High level of professionalism and communication skills with a proven ability to influence key stakeholders, including C-level and senior executive leadership
Demonstrated experience collaborating with people of all backgrounds and identities to advance culture
Experience working within an HR organization and understanding of basic HR functions, including recruiting, learning and development, and performance management
Experience translating data and analytics to develop insights, tell stories, drive decisions, and measure impact
Experience working with long-term project plans and timelines
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive them to completion using project/program management tools
