Job summary
Amazon Games is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team and assure our games meet our high quality standards. The QAE in this role is responsible for working with the QAM to define and execute the Test Strategy, and take into account the functional, integration, performance, and automation test coverage. They would help own the development of the Test Plan and expand the test suites that are run for each build of the product. They would work closely with the team to ensure issues are escalated and QA sign-off is met in time for major deliverables. They would also define and assign test execution tasks to a small team of testers and would incorporate issues and feedback into consistent test reports.
What you’ll do:
* Become an expert in the game’s multiplayer architecture, back-end services, and features
* Work with the Project QA Manager to iterate on and oversee the implementation of the game’s test strategy and test plans
* Test and report on system stability and performance
* Leverage game telemetry to identify and troubleshoot issues
* Relentlessly pursue the root-cause of defects
* Prioritize and categorize quality issues based on what will have the most impact on the customer experience
* Advocate for the customer in discussions with development peers and QA leadership
* Mentor junior individual contributors on quality approaches
* Continuously learn and remain curious

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ Years of experience in overall software
- 3+ Years of experience with QA/testing/development experience
- 3+ Years of experience testing servers and services for an online multiplayer game
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience shipping a AAA multiplayer game
- Experience with networking, databases and/or AWS services
- Experience testing e-commerce systems
- Experience testing across a variety of platforms (PC, mobile, console, etc.).
- Knowledge of: QA methodology and tools; software testing standards, methods and conventions; and the product development cycle
- Proven success in communicating cross-functionally and across management levels
- ISTQB (or equivalent qualification) a plus
