Talascend is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a remote Customer Literature Technical Writer position with a leading automotove manufacturer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create complex SharePoint lists with multiple workflows, focused views, and specific access
  • Work with customer literature team to determine publications needed for each program
  • Manage both centralized and program-specific SharePoint lists of owners manual (OM) titles, engineers, managers, technical authors, and program leads, and implement name changes as required
  • Develop and implement improvements in SharePoint pages as needed
  • Modify, delete, and add content to SharePoint site as requested
  • Extract lists of OM titles from content management system
  • Modify views and adapt lists according to the OM development phases
  • Explain SharePoint features to other team members, train new team members, and refresh training as needed
  • Provide program status reports as needed
  • Develop solutions for SharePoint issues as needed
  • Follow the customer literature schedule milestones
  • Test new SharePoint features before deployment
  • Support the implementation of Power BI for customer literature
  • Maintain records per Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) record retention policy for all programs and development phases and ensure this information remains accessible to company

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with Excel, Access, SharePoint, and SharePoint tools (e.g., Workflows, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Power Query, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives without direct supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in both virtual and in-person work environments

PREFERRED:

  • 5 years or more of work experience with business data analysis and project execution
  • Experience in IT project management, requirements definition, process definition, testing, and IT strategy development
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Development experience/background
  • Proficient with Power BI and other reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of Visio or other process flow tools
  • Ability to facilitate sessions with end users, ask probing questions to elicit business process discussion, and create process flow diagrams
  • SharePoint certification is a plus
  • JAVA and HTML knowledge
  • Preferred Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday. Core hours are 9am to 3pm
